Torri Allen (Chief Operations Officer)
Torri Allen graduated from North Carolina Central University with a B.S. degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a concentration Child development and Family Relations. In 2009 she received a Master’s Degree in Child Development and Family Studies and completed a published Thesis entitled “Entrepreneurships for Family and consumer Science Majors”. Ms. Allen has over Nine years of experience in the field including working as a teacher with children diagnosed with MH disorders and providing service to the CAP population. Mrs. Allen has attended several trainings and workshops that have enlightened her knowledge of the field. Mrs. Allen’s goals were to open an agency that catered to helping others help themselves become progressive individuals Not only is she one of the founding members of Diverse Family Services, she also holds the title of the agency Director of Operations for the company. As Director of Operations Mrs. Allen works collaboratively with other members of the management team for oversight of all functions of the agency to include: compliance; consumer grievances and complaints, services delivery; financial and billing processes; marketing; and human resource duties. She truly believes and lives by the motto “The greatest reward in life is helping someone else achieve success”.
Kristin Jones (Chief Executive Officer)
Kristin Jones graduated from North Carolina Central University with a B.S. Degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in Corrections. Ms. Jones also holds a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from North Carolina Central University where she graduated in 2010. She is currently pursuing an additional Master’s Degree is Clinical Mental Health. Ms. Jones has over eleven years of experience in this field. She has played roles across the mental health spectrum, starting her career as a Para-Professional within the group home setting/community setting, and being an associate professional as well as a qualified professional for many years Ms. Jones has a lot of hands on experience. Not only is Ms. Jones a Co-Owner of the company, she is also the Program Manager for the entire agency and the Chief Executive Officer. Through Ms. Jones’ experience in the field she realized that not enough agencies cater to the specific needs of individuals with severe mental illnesses. After realizing this was needed in the community, she wanted to be able to provide services that are individualized to the specific needs of clients and this is the main reason for wanting to start her own agency. With having dual roles within the agency and managing the day to day operation Ms. Jones’s main role is to ensure that DFS follows all state and federal guidelines. In addition, Ms. Jones completes billing, oversees weekly staffing, and deals one on one with all MCO’s (communication, audits,meetings,etc.). Ms. Jones believes “If we all waited for the next person to help we would still be waiting” is her philosophy on life and that’s why she is always the first person without hesitation to lend a helping hand.
Jason Machalicky (Medical Director)
Jason Machalicky completed his residency in adult psychiatry in 2005 and then completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at UNC Chapel Hill in 2007. He has been practicing in the community since 2007 and has served DFS as Medical Director and medication management provider since 2010.
Colleen Hamilton (Clinical Director)
Colleen Hamilton has held the position of the Clinical Director at the agency since 2010. She obtained her doctorate in psychology in 2007 and has 11 years of experience in a variety of mental health settings including, inpatient, day treatment, intensive in home, and outpatient services. She has extensive clinical, supervision, and training experience. In addition to her expertise in CBT and Trauma Focused CBT, she also is a current member of the MINT.
Samara Bowser (Quality Management and Training Director)
Samara Bowser has over ten years of experience in this field and has been employed at DFS since 2008. She has worked in a variety of capacities in the mental health field, including roles in direct care services. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from North Carolina Central University and is currently enrolled to obtain her Master’s Degree in Social Work.
